I am a south Hampshire and Dorset based photographer and have been practicing photography since 2000 and went on to Graduate with my BA Hons Degree in May 2006. I have a real passion for the subject and mostly enjoy documentary and social observation but I am always experimenting with all genres of the medium.
I have set up this website to showcase some of the studies I have worked on exhibitions I have been apart of and work I have been commissioned for over the last eight years. I hope it can be a resource for photographers, for aspiring as well as professionals, for viewers and potential clients.
Wedding Photography
Since Graduating from University I have taken particular interest in Wedding photography. Through out the summer of 2006 I gained experience from six weddings, some of which I have published on the site. Into 2007 I have had the pleasure of a further 10 weddings, and during the 2008 season I have completed 9 weddings. More recent years have seen me go on to manage up to 20 weddings during the summer months.
Weddings are such exciting days and I love being apart of that. Although this is a new aspect to me I am building up a strong client base and experience with each new couple who I have the pleasure of shadowing.
I have dedicated a page on my wedding packages so please feel free to have a look.
Portraits
Because of the nature of my work, I try not to restrict myself to a studio environment. The clients I have worked with have opted for 'on-location' shoots as it gives them the freedom and setting to have some fun whilst photographing.
Capturing spur-of-the-moment actions and emotions is what makes a photographic memory all the more special.
Social Documentary
In my most recent documentary project, "Designated Areas" (2006) I created a social documentary on a smoking community and how they are being pushed out of buildings and into these smoking huts. No longer being able to smoke in doorways or in public places, these shelters were erected to accommodate smokers. Over the past five years the smoking culture has taken a huge blow, with many smokers becoming social outcasts within their communities and places of work. Through my study I discovered the NHS were leading the way in a battle to cut smoking from society by designing and implementing a smoking ban on hospital land, with the exception of people smoking in designated areas and in these shelters. I begun a hunt to discover more of these areas and this is the series I made. This work was later exhibited in London
